“The Baroque Party” is a suit of tapestries that represent a turn of my art practice. It was created between 2000 and 2008 and consists of five large scale pieces. They are the result of my answer to the question: What do I really want to do?
I decided to do big scale, decorative, narrative, and detailed tapestries that embrace influences from the 15th and 16th century.
The title piece, “The Baroque Party” (2000), 3×3,20m, is now in the collection of The Röhss Museum, Gothenburg. “The Wedding In Queens” (2002), 3x3m, was purchased by The National Public Arts Council and placed at Uppsala University. “Darlings” (2003), 1x3m, was partly woven (by me) in Australia and now belongs to Falkenberg municipality. “The Theatre In The Park” (2006), 3x3m, was purchased by Värmland’s Museum in Karlstad. And finally, “Definitely Gold” (2008), was purchased by The Region Västra Götaland.
